Gender Analysis Report of the 2022 Population Census and National Surveys Done in Zimbabwe from 2020 TO 2024
UN Women in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) and the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MWACSMED), carried out a gender analysis of the national surveys conducted in Zimbabwe from 2021 to 2023. The national surveys considered for the gender analysis are the 2021-2023 Quarterly Labour Force Surveys (LFS), 2023-24 Household Budget Survey, 2021 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Survey (MSMES), 2020 Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Household Survey, 2023-24 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) and the 2022 National Population and Housing Census. The gender analysis of the population census and national surveys helps to build up the evidence base that is important in informing policies and programmes in a way that considers the specific needs of women, men, girls, and boys. In addition, an integrated matrix of gender indicators was developed, and the data and capacity gaps linked to gender statistics in the country were established.
