UN Women Uganda 4th Quarter Newsletter 2025
UN Women Uganda Quarterly Newsletter
October – December 2025
The final quarter of 2025 highlighted strengthened partnerships, grassroots leadership, and sustained action to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in Uganda.
A key moment was the Girls’ Takeover Initiative, where students from Wanyange Girls’ Secondary School in Jinja engaged in a symbolic leadership exchange with the UN Women Uganda Country Representative. The school is also among two coding hubs launched in 2025 to strengthen ICT skills for young women in the eastern and mid-western regions, promoting digital inclusion and innovation.
UN Women Uganda joined national partners to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, amplifying advocacy to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls. Community dialogues, public campaigns, and stakeholder engagements reinforced survivor-centered approaches and collective accountability.
The Women Uganda 2025+ Knowledge Fair showcased grassroots women leaders driving peacebuilding and social cohesion, providing a platform to share lessons and strengthen networks.
This edition also features field stories on Women, Peace and Security, humanitarian action, governance, and women’s economic empowerment—highlighting progress in leadership, resilience, and access to economic opportunities.
