Violence against women and girls remains a persistent human rights violation and a major barrier to gender equality in Niger. Addressing this challenge requires sustained advocacy, collective action, and continuous engagement of institutions, communities, and partners. The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence provide a strategic opportunity to strengthen these efforts and highlight actions taken to promote change. This special edition of the Gender Newsletter, produced by UN Women Niger, showcases all activities implemented or supported by the Country Office as part of the 16 Days of Patriotic Action. Published within UN Women Niger’s biannual newsletter series, this edition highlights key initiatives carried out during the campaign, including advocacy actions, community mobilization efforts, partnerships, and programmatic interventions. The publication aims to increase the visibility of results achieved through projects and programmes supported by UN Women Niger, while also strengthening awareness among stakeholders on gender-based violence and women’s rights. Through accessible and evidence-based content, the newsletter emphasizes the importance of collaboration and sustained collective engagement to foster lasting change and contribute to safer and more inclusive communities for women and girls in Niger.
