The Feminist Agenda for Peace: Thematic Areas and Call for Actions presents the collective vision and demands of Sudanese women for a just, inclusive and sustainable peace amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan. Developed through extensive consultations with women from diverse regions, backgrounds and lived experiences, the Agenda reflects women’s priorities, challenges and recommendations for addressing the structural inequalities intensified by war.

Grounded in feminist and intersectional analysis, the Agenda highlights how patriarchy, discrimination and exclusion continue to shape women’s experiences in political, social and economic spheres. It calls for the transformation of discriminatory institutions, laws and social norms, while affirming women’s equal rights to participation, leadership, protection and justice.

The Agenda outlines ten thematic priorities, including women’s meaningful participation in peacebuilding and democratic transition, protection from gender-based and conflict-related sexual violence, access to justice, economic empowerment, gender-responsive humanitarian response, resourcing feminist organizing, localization of UNSCR 1325, inclusion of the most affected women and strengthened coordination among women’s organizations and international partners.

It emphasizes that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without the full, equal and meaningful participation of women at all levels of decision-making. The Agenda also underscores the importance of survivor-centred justice, accountability, women-led humanitarian action, and investment in grassroots feminist leadership.

Ultimately, the Sudanese Feminist Agenda for Peace serves as a strategic advocacy tool and actionable framework for policymakers, peace actors and international partners to advance gender equality, social justice and lasting peace in Sudan.
