UN Women and the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians invite paper proposals for a symposium on Religion/Theology, Gender-Based Violence and Women’s (In)security in Africa. The symposium will bring together scholars, theologians, faith leaders, activists, peacebuilders, health and legal professionals, and civil society organizations to explore African feminist and womanist approaches to gender justice, women’s religious leadership, sexual and reproductive health and rights, conflict, violent extremism, and peacebuilding. The event will take place in Ghana from 9 to 13 November 2026, and proposals may be submitted in English, French, or Portuguese until 20 August 2026.
