Call for Proposals for a Responsible Partner (RP) to provide Essential Services for Migrant and Host Community Women Survivors of Gender-Based Violence in South Africa
Submission deadline: 19 May 2025
For migrant women across the globe – especially those in irregular situations – the risks of gender-based violence are amplified at every stage of the migration journey due to intersecting forms of discrimination and structural gender inequalities, including limited access to safe and regular migration pathways. Migrant women often face critical gaps in accessing information about their rights, available services and protection mechanisms. Recognizing these needs, UN Women’s Making Migration Safe for Women programme in South Africa will engage a national responsible party to provide essential services to migrant and host community women who are survivors of gender-based violence. These services will include psycho-social support and counselling, safe accommodation for survivors at risk of violence, community outreach and awareness-raising, support for economic independence, recovery and autonomy, referrals to health, police and justice services, and the development of long-term exit strategies to support survivors' (re-)integration.
