Call for Proposals for Responsible Partners to lead Data Collection on the Situation of Migrant Women in South Africa

Submission deadline: 08 April 2026

UN Women South Africa is inviting proposals from qualified organizations to collaborate with Statistics South Africa to design and implement a large-scale survey on migration and gender equality. The selected partner will review, adapt, and contextualize existing survey tools for South Africa; develop digital data collection systems; and lead data collection among 1,200 migrant women across Limpopo, Gauteng, and the Western Cape under the Making Migration Safe for Women programme.
Key responsibilities include questionnaire adaptation and pre-testing, development of a CAPI application, sampling design in partnership with Statistics South Africa, recruitment and training of female multilingual interviewers, and supervision of ethical, high-quality fieldwork. The partner will also conduct initial data cleaning and submit both raw and cleaned datasets with full metadata.
