Generation Equality Impact in East and Southern Africa
Date:
Generation Equality is a global initiative convened by UN Women to accelerate investment and action toward achieving gender equality. It was born out of a sense of urgency during the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, when stakeholders across sectors recognized that gender equality cannot be achieved in isolation — it requires the collective efforts of all actors.
Generation Equality brings together organizations from every part of society — including the UN system, governments, philanthropies, civil society, youth and adolescents, and the private sector — to drive transformative change through intergenerational and multi-stakeholder alliances.
Across East and Southern Africa, Commitment Makers are driving real change for gender equality through innovative and locally led initiatives. We invite you to explore highlights of the impact achieved in 2024, as reported by our Commitment Makers.
These are just a selection of the many inspiring results from across the region.
