The COVID-19 pandemic is not just a health issue. It is a profound shock to our societies and economies, and women are at the heart of care and response efforts provided at community level. UN Women Uganda generates analysis on how and why gender matters in the COVID-19 response and works with partners to make sure the gender-differential impact of COVID-19 is considered in response strategies.

UN Women Uganda conducts relevant gender analysis and sex-disaggregated data collection so that women’s needs and realities do not fall through the cracks, even as actors strive to gather additional data and knowledge about COVID-19. UN Women supports government and private sector efforts to create opportunities for inclusive economic growth mostly targeting women and young people in line with the principle of Leaving No One Behind.
