Virtual High-Level  Dialogue: Accelerating Progress and Accountability for Ending GBV in East and Southern Africa
With the considerable momentum of the GBV Action Coalition in the East and Southern Africa Region, with the leadership of the Government of Kenya, the Yes! Trust Zimbabwe, among other leaders and advocates on EVAW, UN Women East and Southern Africa Region is convening EVAW leaders and partners across the region to commemorate the annual 16 Days of Activism on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), from 25 November to 10 December. through a High-Level Dialogue: Accelerating Progress and Accountability for Ending GBV in East and Southern Africa. The Dialogue will be the first regional conversation on taking forward the significant commitments and efforts on EVAW that exist across East and Southern Africa. It will contribute to growing the momentum and critical mass of actors working toward a collective vision of an Africa where all women and girls can enjoy their right to live free of violence, in line with the 2021 UNiTE Global Theme of End VAW Now!.  Full details ▼

ObjectiveTo provide a platform for EVAW advocates from the region, including but not limited to GBV Action Coalition Leaders and Commitment Makers, to share and exchange EVAW efforts and approaches toward ensuring accountability to women and girls and deepen relationships for regional collaboration on closing implementation gaps and transforming social norms that perpetuate gender-based violence.
