Policy and advisory support

UN Women supports regional institutions, governments and other stakeholders in setting up and applying comprehensive and dynamic set of global norms, policies and standards on gender equality and empowerment of women.

Through policy and technical advisory services and regional engagement, the Regional Office partners with regional bodies to support women’s participation in intergovernmental policy processes such as the regional preparations for the Commission on the Status of Women - CSW, the Rio+20 follow up, the Beijing+20 review, and the Post 2015 development agenda. These processes are linked to national level gender equality and women empowerment advocacy. The Regional Office also provides technical and advisory services to field offices in supporting member states to implement outcomes of such intergovernmental policy processes.
