Gender Alert on Drought in Ethiopia
The Ethiopia Gender Alert is a new series of publications that outlines the gendered risks and challenges that have emerged because of the evolving humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia.
The first issue in the series demonstrates how women and girls are particularly affected by the drought and aims to raise awareness about its gender-differentiated impacts and the need for more gender-sensitive responses and interventions. It also includes a gender-risk assessment that assesses possible developments related to the humanitarian, protection and security risks faced by women and girls in Ethiopia as a result of the drought. Finally, the Ethiopia Gender Alert makes recommendations for gender-sensitive interventions and data-collection.
