This brief emerges from the Assessment of National Responses and Strategies on Trafficking in Persons and Migration, with a specific focus on the vulnerabilities of women and girls to all forms of exploitation. The assessment focused on Cape Verde, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. The assessment sought to define what the countries in Africa consider trafficking and migration and map the current policies, legislation, legislative frameworks, and other arrangements developed and implemented at the national level to combat trafficking in persons and migration.
