Policy Brief - The Status of Gender Equality in East and Southern Africa
This policy brief is based on the Regional Gender Equality Profile report, consolidating the 2021-2023 Country Gender Equality profiles conducted by UN Women in East and Southern Africa. This brief conveys a sense of direction and offers strategic policy, institutional and programmatic recommendations. The policy brief highlights the imperative and urgent need to have men, along with women, become gender equality activists and work towards violence-free, inclusive societies. Responding to the call to accelerate progress towards gender equality, the brief is a key knowledge product and source of strategic guidance for regional level policy advocacy and programming.
