We are pleased to invite you to a webinar focusing on what is currently happening on the continent with regards to the nexus between gender and environmental statistics. The webinar is organized by UN Women in partnership with UNEP, UNECA and Imperial College of London. This webinar will be held on March 8th from 14h00 to 16h00 East Africa Time. It coincides with International Women’s day’s celebrations 2022 and the attached concept note contains more information about this event.

The 2022 International Women’s Day theme, “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, recognizes the interdependency of gender and the environment in building a more sustainable future for all. It also aligns with the 66th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) theme on “Achieving Gender Equality and the Empowerment of all Women and Girls in the context of Climate Change, Environmental and Disaster Risk Reduction Policies and Programmes”.
