Peace and Security, Humanitarian Action and Disaster Risk Reduction

Women and girls contribute to and have influence in building sustainable peace and resilience and benefit equally from the prevention of conflicts and disasters and from humanitarian action. Strategic areas are follows:

  1. Supporting the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda
  2. Supporting women’s equal participation in peacebuilding, rule of law, transitional justice, security sector reform, and conflict prevention and mediation and related areas
  3. Strengthening relevant institutions to deliver mandates that ensure women’s participation and leadership
  4. Promoting an intersectionality perspective in humanitarian coordination to ensure that women and girls are better served by humanitarian response, disaster risk reduction, recovery and resilience mechanisms and processes
  5. Enhancing women’s leadership, voice and agency in disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response
  6. Strengthening the GBV-Humanitarian-Development nexus in CO’s Programming
