Sudan National Gender Statistics Assessment
This publication contains the findings of a 2021 assessment carried out to identify gaps in Sudan’s gender statistics system. The report covers findings related to the country’s normative frameworks, strategies, production, and analysis, as well as the use of gender data and statistics. The findings of this assessment are expected to provide the basis for the implementation of a gender data and statistics programme in the Sudan under the auspices of Making Every Woman and Girl Count (Women Count), UN Women’s Flagship programme on gender data and statistics. The study makes recommendations related to developing capacity-building programmes on mainstreaming gender in statistics, exploring opportunities to mainstream gender in all surveys and data collections and strengthening the mechanisms and processes for communicating with data users among others.
