COMMON AFRICA POSITION DOCUMENT ON AFRICA PRE COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN & THE BEIJING + 30 REVIEW
African Ministers of Gender adopted a bold, comprehensive and forward- looking African Common Position ( ACP) at the end of the Africa Pre- CSW 69 and Beijing+ 30 Review Ministerial Consultative Meeting. The ACP integrated the views of young people, women and civil society from across Africa, with Member States creating space for 10 youth and 5 CSOs to observe the Ministerial Consultative Meeting and to present the Youth and CSO Position Statements at the meeting.
Different measures need to be adopted as implementation accelerators for these proposed actions to yield impact at scale. The most important are stakeholders' commitments, strengthening grassroots women and girls movements, the existence of strong institutions, and particularly Africa’s ownership of the implementation process by putting in place all necessary measures including financing these actions with Africa’s own resources.
