Call for Proposals for Responsible Parties to Provide Economic Empowerment Services for Migrant and Host Community Women in South Africa
Submission deadline: 13 May 2025
Migration can drive equitable and sustainable development, yet migrant women often face intersecting forms of discrimination throughout the migration cycle. Many migrant women work in the informal sector with limited access to economic opportunities, protection mechanisms and tailored support services. To address these challenges, UN Women’s Making Migration Safe for Women programme in South Africa will engage a national responsible party to provide economic empowerment services for migrant and host community women. This will include provision of demand-driven skills training and business development services to strengthen their (self-) employment and facilitate access to finance and start-up capital.
