Through the Joint UN-EU Spotlight initiative, the Second Chance Education center for Women and Girls in Sokoto was established with the mission of offering a lifeline to those who have endured unimaginable hardships. The project, which recently concluded, left an indelible mark on the people of Sokoto by providing critical support to over 15,000 women and girls. These individuals, predominantly survivors or those at severe risk of GBV, were empowered with access to economic opportunities and fundamental education skills.

This publication sheds light on the remarkable journey of the Second Chance Education center, highlighting its transformative impact on the lives of GBV survivors. Through personal anecdotes, statistical insights, and testimonies from beneficiaries, it showcases the impact made by the Joint UN-EU Spotlight initiative in Sokoto and serves as a testament to the power of collective action in addressing the pressing issue of gender-based violence and fostering sustainable change in communities.
