Call for thematic papers/briefs/case studies from Spotlight Initiative CSOs to enable knowledge sharing on emerging promising practices and lessons learned on Ending violence against women and girls/Harmful practices and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights, including on engaging key African Union processes
Date:
Women’s rights groups and CSOS in Africa have played a central role in advocating for and working towards Ending violence against women and girls/Harmful practices and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights (EVAWG/HP and SRHRR) on the continent. They are at the heart of the Spotlight Initiative’s programme. UN Women recognises that these CSOs through their critical work on the continent have generated a wealth of knowledge and practices that could significantly contribute to continental strategies and initiatives on EVAWG/HP and SRH and RR for other actors to benefit from.
To that end, UN Women through, the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme (SIARP) has issued a call for papers/briefs/case studies. The objective is to enable knowledge sharing on best practices and lessons learned on EVAWG/HP and SRHRR, including on engaging key African Union processes. This call for papers/briefs/case studies offers an opportunity for Spotlight Initiative CSOs to highlight their work and describe what interventions they are undertaking and the results as well as the value they are seeing in the process. The selected CSOs will also be supported by UN Women to develop their papers/briefs/case studies and to participate in a regional forum for regional Spotlight CSOs to enable knowledge sharing on best practices and lessons learned on EVAWG/HP and SRHRR. At this stage, CSOs are requested to develop a simple summary/description/abstract of their ideas of not more than two (2) pages.
Interested CSOs in the Africa Spotlight Countries are highly encouraged to apply. Additional information and guidelines are below:
