The UN Women Somalia Country Office is seeking to engage a Civil Society Organization (CSO) working on strengthening women’s capacity in livelihoods, access to markets, financial literacy, and savings, Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) and enhancing sustainable business skills development in the IDPs and host communities in Somalia (Baidoa, Puntland, Kismayo & Benadir)

The Malawi Women’s Resilience to Disasters (WRD) Project is an 18-month project that aims at initiating and providing a comprehensive package of services to strengthen women's resilience to natural disasters and threats, including climate change, contributing to sustainable, secure, and thriving communities in disaster prone districts in Malawi. The project will be implemented in three disasters prone districts that were heavily hit by Tropical Cyclone Freddy: Zomba, Blantyre and Phalombe.  

The call for application has the aim of strengthening the institutional capacity of a civil society organization working in the area of increasing women’s political participation. The grant is therefore expected to increase the resource and capacity of an eligible CSO to address Violence Against Women in Politics and there by advance the rights of women to participate in public and political life and enable them to become agents of transformative change towards an equitable society.

UN Women is seeking to engage qualified Non-Governmental Organizations as Responsible Parties (RPs) to support the implementation of the project "Building protection capacities of women and girls IDPs hosted in 5 municipalities of the West, Littoral and Centre regions". Proposal can be made for the entire project regions or for some particular regions as the proponent deems it appropriate. Each proposal should carry all the activities in the selected area.

The call for application has the aim of strengthening the institutional capacity of civil society organizations working in the area of increasing women’s participation and leadership. The grant is therefore expected to increase the resource and capacity of eligible CSOs to advance the rights of women to participate in public and political life and enable them to become agents of transformative change towards an equitable society. 

Under this call of proposal, UN Women will recruit a partner to develop and deliver online training programs for Women-owned/-led businesses in the implementing countries, to support them in the process of pivoting to new sectors in this post-covid19 economy and strengthen their capacity to access to public procurement. This includes to design tailored training modules and tools that are based on needs and existing gaps for the targeted Women.

WPHF seeks to fund qualifying local organizations in Malawi through the following funding streams: 

Programmatic funding from 30,000 USD to 200,000 USD

To finance programmatic activities of CSOs aimed at enhancing the meaningful participation and decision-making of women in conflict prevention processes (in line with WPHF impact area 2). 

Institutional funding from 2,500 USD to 30,000 USD 

To reinforce the institutional capacity of women’s rights and women-led organizations working on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Malawi to ensure they are able to sustain themselves and to improve their impact (in line with WPHF impact area.

Description of required services/results 

Provide professional services which includes technical expertise to ensure the following impacts areas are met:

Lot I: Impact area 1: Women lead, participate in and benefit equally from governance systems at local and national levels.

UN Women’s work in leadership and participation is informed by a transformative and rights-based approach which entails concerted and coordinated action with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure that women and girls lead, participate in, and benefit equally from governance systems.

Lot II: Impact area 2: Women have equal economic opportunities and economic autonomy.

Lot III: Impact area 3: Women and girls live a life free from violence.

UN Women’s work in GBV prevention and response is informed by a transformative, rights-based, and survivor-centered approach which entails concerted and coordinated action with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure that women and girls live a life free of violence and discrimination.

N.B: Eligible proposals must include a strong situation analysis with possible causality, implementation strategies that are aligned with the principles of gender equality, leave no one behind and human rights, a detailed account of activities to be implemented to reach the stated outcomes and impact areas as well as the Results and Resources Framework.

The Call for Proposals (CfP) issued by UN Women seeking responsible parties to implement a project on “strengthening the capacity of CSOs and women’s rights organizations to influence policy process and evidence-based advocacy’ focused on organizations working on issues of vulnerable groups of women. The organization/s will deliver a comprehensive program that will enhance the capacity CSOs and WROs on the rights, representation, and benefit of vulnerable groups of women.

UN Women Nigeria country office seeks the services of two qualified international or national NGOs as responsible partners (RPs) to support the implementation of a joint UN project on Strengthening Local and State Level Peace Architectures for Peacebuilding and Prevention in Katsina and Kaduna States of Northwest Nigeria''.Specifically, the RPs would support the advancement of gender equality and women's empowerment in conflict prevention, resolution and peacebuilding in target areas.
